get the book "Iguanas for Dummies" by Melissa Kaplan & READ it all. you will find good information. this book will be a valuable reference in years to come, thru your iguanas lifes passages, ie. sexual maturity, a new behavior to what houseplants are toxic. find a qualified herp vet - I second the last message. destroying them was cruel.
also, get only one iguana.

:...mites and starvation???Those problems are not terminal and can be cured!!!Who gave you such a cruel advice??

:ok well i live in northern ky but i used to have 2 igs but both died very young (b4 i knew about this website) and botyh were put to sleep because of severe starvation and mites etc because those stupid pet store ppl told me to feed them ONLY iceberg lettuce,....well i have bearded dragons and chameleons now but i really want an iguana again...i have a few questions,...what is all the stuff they can eat?? and can someone give me instructions for building a large inexpensive cage ?? i have one that i used for my old igs but now that i look at it it isnt very big at all...i got the instructions from the net but it is 4 ft long and 16 inches wide...thats way too small...they cant even turn around! so please tell me these things!!!
