Rocky is in breeding season. he WILL get over it. my Ginger was a perfect gentleman, he went in the bathtub once a day ...until breeding season. it was late June when he turned orange & started POOPING all over his enclosure & all over the house when he was out of his enclosure. yes 2 -3 - 4 times a day. even though he went in the bathtub per his normal routine, I'd come home from work every day to find the enclosure, the plants, the shelves, the walls, his stuffed toy & a 5' lizard covered in POOP. I spent 2-3 hours every evening stripping out, scrubbing & disinfecting the entire 6' enclosure. he tore down his wall covering, knocked his dishes over & basically went on restless rampages!
this went on until late September. I was at my wits end!
I took numerous fecal samples to the vet. one time they found trichamonads & we treated him with Panacur.
the truth is, when breeding season is over he'll stop this mess making & his manners will improve.
in the mean time - to help contain the mess try lining the floor with those underbed pads made for incontinent people (any drug store - Walmart, etc.) even tape newspaper up on the walls, he'll probably tear it down but it will contain some of the mess.
Good Luck, stay dilligent with cleaning it up. next breeding season we'll starting a support group...!!!!*$)(#)?*%)(*&&!!!

:Rocky is still at it with his desire to randomly poop whereever he feels like it. For the past month/month-and-a-half he's been acting whacky.

:First it all started when he was pooping up on his basking shelf and smearing it all around multiple times a day, making it impossible to clean up, requiring me to replace the rubbery shelf protector.

:Then he started actually crawling back down to his tub, but instead of always going into it like he use to do for the past 6 years, he decided to poop next to the tub. And whenever I would move it around to cover up the spot where he pooped, he would choose another spot next to it. Its like he wanted to poop into it, but just to tick me off, decided not to. Now the past 3 days hes been pooping up on his shelf again, and this time even worse than before. I'm talking like 4, 5, 6 times a day. He's also been acting very aggressive, standing up on his legs, loud hissing, mouth threats, tail trashing, ect- the whole nine yards. He's not normally like this. I've never seen him act this way before.

:Hes eating perfectly fine, isn't lethargic (quite the opposite) is still very strong (I had to replace the shelf again today, and he was putting up a good fight when I took him out), and doesn't look sick in anyway, shape, or form. But of course I'm no vet...

:Could this be worms, parasites, or just breeding season?!?! I'm going nuts here, this has got to stop, cleaning up after a single iguana 5 times a day for 30-45+ days is not fun.

:Sorry if this was long, but I just had to vent, and try to get some answers at the same time. Thanks.
