Green Iguana question.

My iguana has red mites i dont think there are very many but i have got to get him out of my room with the other reptiles. I was wondering if i could put him in a room that is 65 degrees with a basking spot, during the day it would be warmer because the room is pretty much all windows(sun room)? Also i was wondering can birds get the red mites?
