Wow, now I don't feel so bad for babying my Monte. :)
I really need to get the Hattfield book, it is probably the only one I don't have.

::Its difficult to find such a perfect iguana!!

:We really were lucky! When we bought Iggi, she was about a 5 on the 1-50 scale in Hattfeild scale. She would crawl up on our arms, and ride on our shoulders. We built her a 100 gallon plexiglass enclosure, which she slept and pooped in for about 9 months. We would take her out of the enclosure each morning. One of us would clean the enclosure, while the other gave Iggi a bath. She would be taken outside to dry off in the sun, while still on our shoulders. we would put her in her enclosure when we saw Iggi starting the "poopie wiggle". After pooping, she would stand up and wave her arms for us to take her out. At night, we would rock her to sleep, and then put her in her enclosure. In January 2001, she was spending so little time in the enclosure, that we decided to let her free roam. It was the best thing we ever did. We have raised her just like a human baby, if you subsitute "enclosure" for crib, and "bowl of fresh greens and veggies" for "bottle". We also continued to bath her daily in the tub, where she will usually poop in the morning. We have had to "ig-proof" the areas of the house where she roams when we are away. We shut the bedroom and bathroom doors. At night, she sleeps on a converted floor-to-ceiling cat tree, with 2 human heating pads, and baby blankets under her. My wife will put a second blanket on her, tuck her in, and kiss her goodnight, every night. As a result of this method of raising her, she is now a 1 (or less?), on the Hattfield scale. She will crawl up my arm out of the bathtub, and give me kisses on my ear while I dry her. Obviously, lizards don't have lips. But Iggi has learned that humans make a smaking sound when we kiss her, so she sticks her tongue out as she simultaneously pulls it away from the roof of her mouth. This makes a smaking sound while she kisses. She never does this any other time (smelling something, or eating). I feel much like a "Daddy" to our iguana, so I chose the username "ig_daddy" for this forum.
