What about the good 'ol box, string, and stick method?
Steps
1- Get a large cardboard box.
2- Get a ruler
3- Get a long enough piece of yarn or string
4- Buy some blueberries
5- Set up box with ruler propping it up
6- Make a trail of blueberries to the box and inside of it
7- Set up a light so that the iguana can see the blueberries inside of the box
8- Wait patiently at the top of the stairs
9- Pull string and trap iguana under box when it goes inside (cardboard box is probably light enough so that if it falls on the tail, it won't cause any damage)
10- If you put a large piece of cardboard or some other durable material under the "trap" you can use it as a base for the box when you have to pick up the iguana in the box.
Happy Hunting!! ^_~
