I'm thinking one of two things. 1.) Big Sterilite container with a pile of food in it and a lid ready to go if/when the ig ventures in to eat. 2.) Getting a pair of welding gloves and placing it's food as far away from the hiding spot as possible. Where are you in the world ? If you're anywhere in New Engalnd I might be able to come help.....
