First, THANX! My balls are very very spoiled :oP, second, I have had much good luck with Zoo-med CHE. When I unplugged the rheostat and plugged the CHE into the wall, the noise stopped. I am leaning towards cwatbay's theory that it is the ranging current going through the CHE. I think its thermostat time...

:I used a rheostat before, and never had that. Just to be safe, I'd send the CHE back and get a new one. Tell them that the CHE seems to be malfunctioning and you'd like a new product.
