Hi Wendy-in-the-East,

Yes, you can grow collards - and if you don't over-winter them just grow them as annuals. They seem to be available here locally most of the time at the organic stores so I assume they are grown here all year long, but I am in the warm west. (By the way, does anyone here know what snow looks like? We haven't hit freezing yet... <>!)

Strangely, I have not found the seeds in garden stores ...(they try to give me kale seeds!) but I have found them in Wal-Mart and Home Hardware.

If you have trouble finding seeds in early spring - send me your snail mail address and I'll mail you a pack. I bow to your dedication! (I give seeds to daughter's b/f so he can bring me free collards LOL)
Wendy-in-the-West
