Definitely no hitting... Only yelling or raised voice. Even shaking a finger at him pisses him off. He's not impressed by the voice either. Anything I have tried to do to prove my dominance only enrages him further. The big issue now is his enclosure. That is currently HIS. Once I get him out of there he is more manageable (but still not his old self). I'm almost wondering if I should lock him out of there for a while (that sounds weird, doesn't it?). He has also tried attacking my Yellow Nape Amazon, so I know he doesn't just hate me...
He was his normal self at the vet (which I assume was because he was either scared or trying to make me look stupid...). I got a call a couple of hours ago and found out that his blood tests came back normal, so I guess that's good, he's healthy... Actually, he is also growing a lot too; he has gained 1.5 pounds since August (he is 4.2lbs now)!!!
What do I do when he is 10-15 lbs, and behaving like this?!?!!?!
:none of them behaves like that!!Well, the older one, Godzilla, 6/7 years old, becomes quite grumpy and territorial durig his breeding season but never attacked me and becomes a very sweet one as soon as I take him out of his cage.Reading your post it seems to me your ig wants to replace you as the dominant male in the house. My igs, if i put them together, will fight like that to assure its dominance.Perhaps you should show him you are a friend not a competitor. Are you aggressive with him, scold him, hit him etc...?? If you do that he thinks you are a male ig , a dominant one that is opressing him and he will try to show to you he is the master now.
