i called the pet store and they told me that its scientific name was Opluras Fireevenisis. he also told me that it is not a true iguana and belongs to the family igamae or something like that. it is also known as a madagascan swift, but this is not a correct name either. he also told me he was having sometrouble getting it to eat. and that they were feeding it vegetables as well as crickets. if that info rings a bell by any chance, could someone please tell me where to find info on it. thanx again
w in a pet store here in town a madagascan rock iguana. i`m not sure if that is even the correct name for this animal. i remeber there being some confusion about a rock iguana in this forum a little while ago. my question is, now that my ig petrie has outgrown his aquarium and now lives in my room on a 4 ft basking shelf and is free roaming, i`ve got that empty nest syndrome ( or should i say empty aquarium)*sniffle*. i am considering buying this lizard but want to find out info about it first. i am going to call the petstore and get the scientific name. has anyone ever heard of this type of iguana?? and if so, does anyone know the care or know where i can find info on the care ofit? also, does anyone know how big it will get and how tame it will or will not become. and lastly how long it will live and what its living conditiond should be. tropical like a green iguana? desert like like a beardie? should it have UVB lighting etc. anyting would be great. thanx in advance!
