If you are not willing to care for the iguana properly, please contact your local SPCA or Animal Control agency.
This is a picture of my iguana Tarzan in August, basking in the natural sunlight. They NEED this.
In the wild iguanas live in tropical rainforests and feed on the local vegetation. Studies have been made, iguana stomaches have been analyzed for their content, and it has been PROVEN that they are herbivores. Do you think that dogfood and McDonalds grows on trees in the wild?
Take this into consideration... pet stores like petco and petcetera and the like are chains.. giant chains whose sole interest is making a profit. They care about selling and making money only. They couldn't give a rats @$$ about how well off your animal is going to be, because they don't have to worry about it.
Oh, and by the way, there ARE cruelty and neglect cases running against petstores.
