Products made specifically for humans are more regulated as to what is safe and what isnt. They are alot safer. That is why most people tend to use the human heating pads as opposed to hot rocks and the heat tape. There is more government regulation as to what standards need to be met.
While nothing is totally safe in life human heating pads offer a safer alternative. And often they are cheaper and last longer.
