This is Annie and Skittles, Annie is in the back. Skittles was a prize from a fair that we wanted, we learned to care for properly and made sure his needs were met. We rescued Annie, she had been rasied in a school room by a fourth grade teacher for two years, fed mostly monkey chow and rarely seeing natural sunlight or UVB lights. She had MBD, a big mouth gap and several broken toes. But she was the sweetest, tame thing I ever saw.
Today, after alot of natural Sunlight (I live in FLorida and she has an outside enlosure 10'x8'x5')vitamins, good balanced salads, fresh veggies and her favorite raspberries, the mouth is corrected and only a few bumps around some toes.
She will probably not live as long as she could have due to the monkey chow, but at least she has a chance now........ the sad thing was this teacher taught 50 student the WRONG way to raise one!
It's sad there are iguana's that need rescued, but I think that there are good and bad in no matter how you acquired them, the important thing is that you learn and care for them properly and teach others the same.
