Flavia, if I didn't know that you actually LIVE in a tropical climate that iguanas inhabit I would have been extremely disturbed by what you said. While you may not see a problem with ig overpopulation in Malaysia it's getting to the point of ridiculous here in the United States. Being able to give your igs daily access to natural sunlight and provide them with foods that they find naturally in their environment is a great thing. Of course, if I lived in a location where igs lived in the wild I would not be inclined to remove one from the wild and make it a "pet" but that's my opinion.
As far as this topic is concerned I think that one thing we need to remember is that this really IS a global community that we have here. Not everyone has the same degree of opportunity to properly care for their igs or ANY animal for that matter. As you noted later in the thread, it may not hurt to remind people once in awhile that you live in Malaysia, as opposed to the US or anywhere else. Sometimes we forget that there ARE individuals that participate here that live in locations more favorable to more "natural" iguana husbandry....Places that don't need artificial atmospheres or landscapes....;)
