I am perfectly willing to admit my mistakes. Somehow I always think of forums as being talking, not written word...but that is not the case. However, my argument is still valid because stating that her information (pertinent to this site) is going to cause death to your animals (which I would take to be iguanas) is false. Only later did some possible evidence come up which I wouldn't be able to verify because I do not know anything about snake care.
Still, I do not think the post should have been deleted but discussed the way it is here. Only then can everyone "possibly" come to some kind of understanding...whether it be "agree to disagree" or the truth be brought out. If you guys want more support, you should re-evaluate the way you bring up topics, however. And relating them to the forum you post onto is fairly essential.
:First off, written misinformation that was spread with the specific malicious intent of damaging another's credibility is Libel, not slander... Libel written, slander auditory. Understand?
:Secondly, libel has to be FALSE information which none of what I presented was, thereby invalidating your argument on that score.
:As to the issue of an iguana board and the seeming dislike for non-iguana related issues, someone made a point. They did not make it well but they made a point, others asked for some proof, I provided examples. There were a few iguana issues mentioned in my post and the overall point was specifically about the topic that had been raised, Ms. Kaplan's credibility.
:Stating that someone who made some valid points in a respectable and reasonable manner is attempting to start a flame war is simply insulting. If you can't argue with the points made, going after the individual making them in a ridiculous manner is simply juvenile.
:While I do not post with any regularity, how are you able to determine that I am not a long time lurker? I'm not for various reasons but how would you have made that determination before I addressed the issue myself?
:Your anger over this post is fraught with illogical responses and infantile "name-calling", if you have some desire to alter the minds of those who read your posts, a more reasonable attitude might be in order. Calling me a liar without asking for specific verification (I can provide links to everything I said)only reflects badly on your own credibility.
:I had been told that these boards were full of inane responses devoid of anything resembling a reasonable response and were frequently censored but I hadn't fully understood the degree to which this was true until tonight, I must thank you for proving everything negative I have heard about the KS boards and giving me a more concrete understanding of the situation.

::One is a fact...the other is slander and as I mentioned before... it is the WAY it was brought up. You don't post on a forum you never posted on before and start slamming someone. Who were these people??...they had issues with politics and discussions none of us were privy to! That isn't intelligent debate. If you want to stick around and debate her in person over some kind of IGUANA ISSUE, be my guest! This is the iguana forum, and they are bringing up junk about snakes and stuff we cannot argue about one way or the other. Go bring up these points in the snake forum, not here. We are here to talk about iguanas and issues relating to them. I don't agree with her mercury vapor lighting opinion. I am not some kind of kiss @ss or anything. I didn't like the moderators coming on this site in the first place! I don't like the censorship and I resent that people are kicked off the sites. However, I will still defend MK in the sense that she has knowledge and her site has been very helpful through the years. People amaze me how they can discount someone's useful accomplishments because they screwed up somewhere down the line.
::So in my opinion, they are trying to start a flamewar. They may have had some valid points but they aren't going to get respect posting the way they did.
