Is the ig dehydrated? I think I would be more concerned with getting it properly hydrated at first. Feeding can come later. Soaking, spraying, dripping water on it's nose might work. Definitely get it checked for parasites, but since some parasite medications are hard on the kidneys, rehydration is again a very good igea. I'm pretty sure Melissa Kaplan has a good article about rehydrating starved igs on her site, but I'm not sure where. She has loads of good iguana info there. The main site is http://www.anapsid.org/

As far as feeding goes, if the ig is not in an utter panic around you, you could try to offer the food by hand. Offering pieces of collards or mustard greens worked well for me. Usualy you can touch the ig's nose with the food, and it will at least lick/smell the thing. I try to get a piece in the mouth, so that it bites down a couple of times and tastes the greens. If it actualy starts to chew and swallow down the food, you can keep sticking strips of greens in it's mouth - while this doesn't solve the problem of the ig feeding itself, it certainly gets food into him right now.

Good luck...
