Yep :) I'm impressed you recognized them, although the black one is a Groenendael. They are wonderful as a breed, if you keep them busy and have lots of time to train with them. High, high energy, they get bored easily and believe me, will find something to occupy themselves. Not the usual bad dog stuff either. Example: dragging all the bedding off the beds, including pillows, piling it in the living room and curling up there to sleep. Or throwing socks at the overhead fans till they hang there. Or opening the fridge and stove with the conveniently located dishtowels to grab a snack. The best is when they hide all the remote controls in the house in your shoes, then put the shoes in the bathtub. No, I'm not kidding, and I could go on all day :P They are very, very wierd smart dogs!
They need alot of exercise as well as a job to do. I could walk them all day long, but if I didn't give them a quick work through obedience, or agility, or even just doing some trick work they would still not settle down for the evening. They make absolutely wonderful dogs if you have the time for them, otherwise they are your worst nightmare. Socialization is very critical, they aren't a dog to leave at home, mine come everywhere with me.
Good website: My friends kennel is www.ravenmasque.com and is a good place to start for sure :) If you want a dog that can herd, track, do obedience, agility, conformation, flyball, sledding, search and rescue, guard work, shutzhund, ringsport... these guys can do it all. If you want a dog to hang about with you, sleep on the couch all day, laze in the sun... well they do that, but not without a bunch to wear em out first!
:I love those dogs =) they're so gorgeous. How are they as a breed? how much exercise do they need? any suggested websites for good info on them?
:thanks =)
