we have fire ants

Kitty, we have fire ants in Idaho. Boy are they the meanest things. I have only seen them in sand or sandy soil. When I lived out in Jerome county I got bit by one. My whole foot swelled up. Now I live in the city of Jerome, no sandy soil or sand, no fire ants. I don't know if others around the country have noticed that it is just around sand that they live. They do build quite large mounds, at least around here, very easy to spot. Destroy them anyway you can. No kidding. They destroy every other creature.
