I have worked many years in the horse racing industry, and also in the dog industry. By dog industry, I mean that my dogs compete and pay for themselves, they are pets but they are also top competitors with many, many titles in many areas. There is one thing that is common to all animal industries as far as I can tell, and that is the danger of a "rescuer" using the guise of kindness to turn a profit, either by breeding rescues (becoming a puppy mill/lizard mill etc) or by selling them off once they are cleaned up.

As has been pointed out below, you sound somewhere around the age of 12, given your language and how you behave to simple questions. Personally, I don't think you have any iguanas at the moment. You post that you have a new one, then no photos, no updates, just some questions on how to fix one problem or another then silence.

As a person who has been involved in animal rescue, as well as animal rescues directly, I have to question your motives. Are your pets dying through neglect or lack of funds? Do you really have 4 or 5 large reptiles, possibly more, all conveniently acquired in a short period of time? Or are you fixing them up and selling them, although that seems unlikely with iguanas being a dime a dozen.

The other glaringly obvious point, is that in under 30 seconds, I found no less than four reptile rescue associations in and around the state of Iowa (I am Canadian). There is an Iowa Herpetological Association, with its own website, contact addresses and phone numbers etc within easy find. Or do they already know who you are?

I have many rescues. I have never, ever rehomed one of them. All of them have their own troubles, some have bounced from pillar to post as vicious, aggressive, untrainable, mean, the list goes on, and to some degree it has all been true, however with years, yes YEARS of hard work, they have become wonderful pets of all species. You simply do not sound like someone with the resources or the time and patience to deal with so many problem animals.

Just my 2cdn cents. Deal with it.

:I do want to adopt. Please, just tell me where some shelters are in Iowa or other neighboring states. What's th harm of that?
