Well not nearly as blunt as your Slee : )
But I have always been able to understand my animals just by looking into their eyes.
Roxanne
:I find this really interesting...I'm a bit of a skeptic myself but I really do think that Sleestack answers me when I ask questions. This has been going on for some time now. I talk to Slee every day and I usually ask him questions a couple times per day (these started out as just rhetorical silly questions like: "are you my little troublemaker?" or "Have you been a good boy today?" etc. etc.) Well he headbobs "YES" everytime I ask him a question! He does not headbob when I just talk to him. My husband thinks he recognizes the voice inflection of a question, although obviously not what I am saying. It is just sooo funny though...
:He has done this for a good part of the year, but it seems it is even more exact lately....I try it a few times per day. He has various headbobs...some annoyed after I clip his nails or mess with him, but these "answer" headbobs are not quite as fast. He often, like just now, is laying down under his light with his arms and legs back, head resting on the ground or his new stuffy toy. So you can see he is completely relaxed, and doesn't move or puff up when I talk to him. After asking the question, he will lift his head slightly to head bob 3x and then rest his head back down, getting comfy again.
:It just makes me laugh everytime though! It is definite communication. I used to think it was just a territorial display, but now I'm not so sure. If it is, it is definitely a relaxed one.
:He is one strange lizard I have to say. He is actually more friendly in breeding season...enjoying sitting on my lap being petted more than the rest of the year. He hasn't shown any aggression, just lots of plugs, some poopy painting, lack of appetite, and unbelievable energy / restlessness. All and all he is a pretty good male.
:So, once again I will pose the question, how do your igs communicate with you? Have you noticed anything you find unusual in their behavior with you or others?
