:Hi Everyone,

:Before I let you know what I found there please tell all of
:your Iguanas how lucky they are.

:My husband and I visited this morning to see for myself what
:the complaining was about by several different people. The
:owner said that all of the baby igs had been sold but back in
:the corner was an 8 year old with much of his tail missing.
:I thought I would vomit!! He was sitting in the bottom of
:the enclosure with dirt and feces everywhere. There was some
:greens in there that looked at least several days old. There
:was no water. He had one small basking light and no UVB.
:He was dark and would not hardly open his eyes. This guy with
:his whole tail is probably about 4 foot long.

:I acted stupid and starting asking questions. The owner said
:that he was about 8 years old and that he had taken it from
:someone who said they cut the tail because he tail whipped
:them?? I asked if I could touch him or if he was aggressive
:and the owner said "Oh, he is real friendly" So I opened
:up the enclosure and thats when the stench hit me. He was
:cold to the touch and when I drew my hand back from petting
:him it was covered in dry dirt and stink. I said a few things
:then that I probably should not have and he starting making
:excuses. Why no UVB?, I asked. He said he had it on order
:because the other one burned out. Guess what was sitting about
:5 feet from the cage...a whole bunch of UVB lights for sale!
:He also said that he was waiting on bedding for the bottom
:of the cage, it was on order...I told him paper towels and
:newspaper work wonderful. He then proceded to tell me why
:there was no food in the other reptile enclosure. What an
:idiot! He should of known to keep his mouth shut as he was
:digging himself deeper. By this time I was pissed!!!

:If I had a place to put this poor guy I would have purchased
:him. I will do everything in my power to make sure he is
:investigated and that he stops neglecting these reptiles.
:He sells small animals which were all in filthy cages without
:clean food and water.

:Sorry for the long post, I am so pissed off I needed to vent!
:I will go and feed Beanie again as she is sitting in her
:food bowl(it must be empty, again!)

:Linda
