: Well, the fire ants have finally cross the border of California. They haven't come to my hometown yet, but I'd like to be prepared.
: For those of you who live in fire ant prone areas, do you have outdoor enclosures? What are some non-toxic methods you use to prevent fire ants from getting into the enclosure?
: Any helpful tips will be appreciated!

Fire ants are the worst ants there are!!!!We have them and you almost literally can not get rid of them without poisons, even then they win.Fla(where I am) has been researching a hornet or fly that has a toxic fungus that is only bad for fire ants. They are suppose to only attack the queen ant. We're still waiting and we all know how introducing a new species into a new enviorment can turn into desister(sp). We live on the fire ant info line to catch up dates, but bait is about all they can reccomend. We've tried molasses and cucumber peels yeast,on and on, but we are losing the fight.Sorry,I don't more.Good luck.Reddouble flowers to you
