I am so sorry to hear about Vito.
This is the first time I felt I needed to write on this forum. Our family just got a iggy from Jane at a rescue. Monte. We (my sisters and I)wanted one, our mom made us look for all the information we could find before we could get one or even ask about one. We found out all we could and so did my mom, we know about abused animals of cats and dogs. We have found out about it in iguanas. The lady we got Monte from has iggys that had MBD and only because of her they are fine, or else they wouldnt be here now and doing well. Rescues can only take care of so many animals of all types. This lady kept bringing out one unwanted animal after another. So to Georgia, I am also in high school, I am 15 and know what it is like to look up info. And I have friends also, but would NEVER have babies cause my friends might want one. Maybe you should ask them how much they know about iggys? Find out if they can really have one? Or even find out why, if they wanted one sooooooo bad they havent checked out rescues yet for one. They do not cost alot and some are even free, so why havent they gotten one if they wanted it so bad? I have been raised around animals it has been pounded in my head that I have to help with the care of animals that I want. I don't mind in fact I think Monte is more mine than my moms, we have a bond.
But anyway, think about how bad your friends really want one, and if they know anything about taking care of them or the time and money it costs for them. I am sure you would hate to hear of those iguanas you gave dying one by one. Maybe then you would wish you heard other sides besides your own. Dont think negitive on what I am writing it is just what I think, and having more than one opinion is a good thing.

:So some how it is better for 100 iguanas to suffer slow and painful deaths of neglect and improper care rather than never incubating the eggs at all where there is no suffering? I think if you were like the rescuers here spending all of their time and money rehabilitating these iguanas, and losing some of them, you would have a different opinion.
:Read this link to see just one of the horribly tragic stories that rescuers encounter.
