In Reply to: my iguana has lost it...please help(long, sorry) posted by lindsay_dorian on December 16, 2002 at 21:53:08:

:several months ago adopted an adult iguana from the university where i worked, he was abused and neglected as a juvenile, then abandoned, he also had serious toe infection and has had several toes amputated (all before i got him) the staff at the university said he was freindly before the toe surgery. when i got him he was not agressive just very shy and skittish, he has a roomy cage uv lighting, 90 degree basking spot, and eats a mixture of leafy greens, fruit and flowers. over the first month he became calmer and tamer, eventually allowing me to hold him, and scratch his head a little, then about a week ago, without warning he became very aggresssive, tail lashing and hissing, he has been like that all week, he is also hardly eating at all, and not pooping. he doesn't seem sick, i don't care if he doesn't want to be held or petted but i m worried about him not eating, is there anything i can do?
:sorry this is so long
:thanks
