::Because some unthinking/careless person slapped a common name which included the term "chameleon" in it, it is rather horrifying to think how many people who bought these lizards thinking they were chameleons (old world lizards found in an amazing variety of habitats, from cold mountain cloud forests to the searing coastal deserts and everything in between) and tried to care for them according to some generic "chameleon care" format.::
Their care is not all that dissimilar - they both require space, privacy, plenty of varied food, and good humidity levels. They are climbers, and insect eaters. Their temperature needs match up with the commonly kept cham species, and besides, experienced cham owners know how to read their animals' needs. I think a Corytophanes would do rather well if set up like a veiled or a panther cham. Personaly I know a green anole would do VERY well if set up like a chameleon - I've had one for 5 years, living in and out of a large "chameleon-type" planted setup.
Why is it horrifying?
