I would seriously doubt that a slight change of temperature would kill both igs simultaniously over night unless it was down below freezing!
In last winters ice storm our area lost power in the evening and when we got up the next morning the temperature in the apt was low 50's! My ig and snakes were very cold and lethargic but came thru it just fine. There are also areas of the U.S. where iguanas have become established and occasionally experience drops in temp below the ideal temps for them. The way you described the situation I would suspect some sort of toxin. Too bad you don't have the bodies anymore, a necropsy would have been helpful.
