What is your daily routine up to that point? If your hands come into contact with something interesting, or something that is overlaying your own natural scent, then she may be making sure it's you. ;)
I used to wear perfume - it was part of my everyday grooming/getting dressed ritual, even on weekends, even if I wasn't going anyplace. I had been given a couple of wild (literally - they had been confiscated by USFWS agents when they caught the guy smuggling them into the US) Burmese pythons. They were used to me-with-perfume. One day, they were tongue-flicking like crazy, and had reared back a bit in their enclosure and hissed softly at me. I couldn't figure out why they were suddenly regressed until it hit me: for some reason, I'd skipped the perfume that morning. Made me realize I need to work with them (and, by extension, all the other animals I worked with) when "plain" as well as "scented". ;)
Anyway, if you make breakfast, handle other pets, do some cleaning, put on a hand lotion, or do something that involves chemical transference before going over to spray him, that could be what's going on.
