There is nothing in the rule book that says that you can't "interview" a vet about procedures. If you get even the slightest inking that a vet may not be well versed in something such as iguana tail amputation then by all means seek a different vet that you feel comfortable with. Several of the surgical repairs and corrections that I have had to have have been after 2nd and even 3rd opinions until I found a surgeon that could work with me. During the process not ONCE did I consider contacting a complete stranger via the internet, with absolutely no known credentials, in order to get instructions for a do-it-yourself modified Bankhart procedure in order to reconstruct a shoulder capsule.
Just something to think about....
