:I just adopted them, and the guy has always had them free roam the house.... he had to give them up, because he moved. I have them in a 5' long X 3' deep X 3' tall temp cage.
Unfortunately, this enclosure isn't large enough for a single adult iguana, let alone two. Territoriality isn't restricted to males, nor are all males dominant over females. Nor are males the only ones to get downright nasty when someone is in their space, competing for their resources, or just there, period.
You will need to completely separate them at this point. If you are going to keep them caged, please read the Iguana Age and Expected Size and Basic Cage Design Problems articles, as well as the Introducing and Housing Multiple Green Iguanas and the Lizard Tough Guys article linked to it.
>> is she just being more dominant or??
All of the above. ;) You might also want to read the information on behavior in my Iguana Care, Feeding & Socialization and elsewhere in my site for more information on figuring them out. ;)
>>i am taking him to the vet tomorrow for a check up on it...
Might also want to read the articles linked to the Health, Illness, Injury and Stress page for info that will help you to monitor his recovery and ongoing stress-related issues.
Let us know how it goes!
