:I've seen the pics of older larger iguanas with the orangish-reddish coloring.
The orange/red coloring has to do with sexual maturity, breeding season, and social status. A healthy iguana hits sexual maturity at 12 months, his (or her ;) first breeding season at 18 months, and annually thereafter.
