As Spike has been reaching his more mature days I have been noticing the average male tendencies. He's gotten more territorial and less tolerant of my attention. He free roams in my room and I bathe him daily which means to some extent, he has to somewhat tolerable otherwise I'll have to stop bathing and keep him in his cage. At this point he's shown no signs of wanting to bite and doesn't even tail whip, but he squirms a lot more when I hold him (which is really brief).
My question is: Should I still try to give him attention even though he resists so that he knows he's going to get it and he'll tolerate it more or should I lay off since I'm pretty sure he's still in his season? I know I'll probably have to find a delicate balance that suits Spike (as no iguana is like another), but which way should I lean? I try not to bother him too much and he has him own space in my room (its not like we have to share space), but should I just do the bath and then leave him alone?
Thanks,
Shanna
