1st thing: VET! Find a good reptile vet and take him/her to them. Get a fecal done and an overall check up.
2nd: "Salad" should include Greens such as Collard, Escole, Turnip, Dandelion, Endive, and Mustard. Also Veggies like Squash, Carrots, bell peppers, parsnips, and fruit should be held to a minimun. Banana has no nutrition. It's a treat (my guy LOVES it also :) ) not a staple. Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, melon, all good friut but again, should NOT be the staple. I believe the ratio is (correct me if I'm wrong people) 60% Greens, 30%-35% Veggies, 5%-10% Fruit. That should get you started with diet.
You didn't say what you were keeping him/her in..... Once we have that info, I'm sure someone will comment if needed.
Um...... Lights that are need : Heat (Heat lamp type thing), UVB Flouresant (such as Reptisun 5.0).
I'm know I'm missing something but I don't have anymore time to type. I Hope this helps. Keep us updated.

:Happy Thanksgiving

:I have a few Questions We rescued a 8yr old 2 1/2 foot Iguana yesterday. I am kinda worried I found out he was living outside in an old chicken coop with no heat just a light.(we live in Sacramento Ca) He has lost over half of his tail most of the nails on his hind legs both look like the are healing ok. The people we got him from told us he used to run free in the backyard and used to eat the tomatoes (dont know about the leaves) she said he stoped eating for them (I got him to eat alittle tonight) Howevere when we got him he look overweight I gave him a warm bath tonight after triming the nails he has left and he went to the restroom in the water look like a dog was in the water now he looks so underweight. I have him on a deit salad right now that I got off line and he seem to like it and he loves bannanas. Is there anything I should due or anything I need to watch for any and all help is greatly apperatied thank you.
