wow thanx for alerting me to something that totally escaped my mind. come to think of it, she was feeding him kiwi. and i had already asked her for a rundown of everything she had fed him. i thinkg the mystery is solved. i think you are right about it being kiwi. i soaked him today and he did have a poop, and a little bit of white stuff, but usually its like a chunk more or less of white stuff. this time it was like strigy. he also didn`t let any of that egg white watery stuff out. i guess that would be considered his pee. sorry so graphic! i`m not satisfied, i think he still has more that needs to come out. i am gong to keep soaking him once or twice daily for the next few days. he doesn`t seem to enjoy baths all that much but he will, once he settles down let me rub his belly, whch i have been doing. i have also noticed that he poops much quicker if the water is pretty warm. not too warmof course, i always put my hand in to check the temp, but if he is taking awhile to do his business, i add a little bit of warmer water and it tends to work. i think he is maybe a little dehydrated so ihave been giving him water soaked greens and also giving him water by dribbling it down his mouth and he`ll lick it up. he is eating great and very active. he isn`t very interested in fruit. i know it sounds weird most igs love it, but he prefrs greens. i have been spraying the greens i have been feeding him with water so they are covered in moisture when he eats him. my friend who watched him really liked him and wanted an iguana. she took very good care of him and fed him exactly what i told her to feed him. i just had forgeooten in my panic that there was a kiwi in the refrigerator for him. anyways, thanx for the suggestions, hopefully thngs will go good for awhile at least...... lots of purple W/ red centered hibiscus to you all and thanx again!
( i don`t know what i would do without this forum!!)
: Poor Petrie...Poor Mom! I'd also keep up the soaks...and check with your friend to see what she has fed him. Is there any way they might be kiwi seeds? Hopefully, they are not apple seeds. If they are, at least they have been passed out of the system and Petrie should be okay. If they are apple seeds, you need to alert your friend that these are toxic to animals & humans. Don't know how many one would actually have to consume for it to be deadly, but it is safer to be extra careful about any seeds falling in to the mix when cutting up apples.
: If you haven't tried this...a nice belly rub can help move things along. Start just above where the tummy is and gently rub toward the vent area. Of course, this will only work if Petrie is agreeable to it LOL
: Good luck to you both!
