Keep in mind that $1200 gets you the enclosure and pretty much nothing else. The unit that is pictured appears to be selling for $2000+.
As far as the enclosure itself is concerned, $1200 probably isn't too far off for price. Sheets of acrylic can run upwards of $200 each and anodized aluminum isn't cheap either. Factor in hourly labor figures and you're certainly in the realm of $1000 +/-.
My little hangup with the enclosure is the fact that the way it is set up in that picture NOTHING is getting any sort of UV exposure as the wall lights are supposedly "full spectrum" basking and the fluo hood is too high for anything to get any UV exposure. Little things, easily overcome, but one would think that a company that commands these prices for it's enclosures would set them up correctly.....
