Tempest has had a sudden HUGE leap forward in trust, which is very cool. I realize that he could make just a big a leap backwards, but for now, I'm so happy :) Last night, he let me pick him up from underneath, calmly, out of his enclosure with only two half hearted "I could if I felt like it" tail whips, more like tail waves. So up he came to watch TV, hung out on top of the cat tree (with the cat in it), wandered around a couple of other high spots, and settled back down on top of the cat tree for a good hour. Cleo, of course, had to go see who was on her tree (she's not much of a cat, and very old to boot), they looked at each other, went hmmmmm........ Then both went back to their repsective spots and Cleo went back to sleep. VERY cool.

I'd say half an hour after Tempest was out, I let the dogs in from the yard. They eyeballed him, just like they do when he's in his cage, he eyeballed them, same way, then everyone settled back down again. Dogs went to sleep, Tempest looked out the window, legs kicked back, no puffing up.

There's hope!! There's hope!! I realize I am months and months away from having Tempest just out and about while I'm home, for the next very long while it will be tightly supervised ventures out, but still its a big step in the right direction. Tempest seemed really glad to be out as well, although he was also quite happy to hop back in his enclosure. Just thought I'd share his first major adventure into the household proper :)
