:In some cases, the better alternative is to move the light fixture farther away so you can still take advantage of the greater amount of heat a larger bulb puts out, but without the risk of your ig getting a proximity burn.

:It could be either. Proximity burns may not always show immediately as blisters. Also, igs (and other reptiles) can get sustain burn trauma in the tissues below the skin, with the skin itself looking relatively normal, or grayed without blistering.

:If in doubt, the best thing is to get her checked out by a reptile vet...
