because I always cut too much and it hurt and bled.So I stopped cutting them for a few weeks.Last week while they were sleeping in the bath tub I cut their nails again but that time I was extra extra careful to cut only the tiny end of the nails. They didnt mind (because it didnt hurt)and didnt even opened their eyes!!

s is one time I absolutely HATE not having some sort of digicam on hand!

:I've noticed Jewel has really started to feel comfortable the last couple days. She gets out in the sun (it's been very warm here) and she eats nice and healthy, gets pets and kisses and lots of love...

:And when she's in her cage and I'm home she's VERY restless.

:One thing though that has really kinda been bothering me, and I've really been working on her about it... she really gets fidgetty and anxious when you pick her up. She squirms and if you don't put her down she starts to ROLL and whip her tail... My arms look like a train wreck right now.

:But this evening... it was SO adorable!

:She wanted out. She'd been a good girl all day with me out, for my mother, who also loves her dearly. So she got extraspecial hugs and love when I got home from class. And she wanted out. That isn't anything new. Normally she needs to be let out long enough to walk my room once over, and then she goes back in herself.

:Today, I opened the cage like always, and sat down with my back to her door, and let her come out... but instead of doing her immediate circuit of my room, very business like...

:She decided to try and eat my jeans. About ten times... and I would rub the top of her head and she would stop, and then back up till *I* stopped and do it again! She climbed right up onto my lap like that... and then onto my chest, so I started to pet her...

:She fell asleep right there! SO sweet!

:Makes me feel so good to know she's adjusting well to my home, and me, and everything!

:On another note... can anyone give me pointers for clipping iggy nails? Part of the problem with Jewel-baby is she's never had her nails clipped... long and sharp and scratching me all up!

:She's got her pink blanky now, all nice and relaxing on her shelf for sleep! And it's about time for ME to get some sleep to!

:Angel, and sleepy Jewel and Gir.
