::Well, the vet said that Joey's tail had grown back so strangely and the thin part was definitely dead and just kinda hanging, so he clipped it off. He thought that Joey might need to have his tail amputated up higher, because the tail colour did not look very good; however when he cut the dead end off, there was very healthy looking tissue underneath, so we are giving it another try. I am supposed to dip the end of his tail in betadine solution at least twice a day and if possible use a cloth to rub the end of it so that the cells will be stimulated and encouraged to heal and grow over the tip.
::p.s. we also were able to find an iguana supermarket...rather,a health food store with mustards, collards,and dandelions....woohoo! When they saw what we purchased they immediately asked..."have you got an iguana, or do you eat these yourself?" I guess all the local iguana owners keep them in business...*smiles*.
