For the mesh, I used 2x2's for the frame, and 1x2's for the shelves and for covering the sharp edges of the mesh. I probably could have gotten away with just thin plywood or that stuff they put on the back of build-your-own shelving units, but I had the wood about already. The dimensions are less than ideal, but will get me through till I can afford to build something bigger, I'm planning to put my beardie in this enclosure eventually. Anyhow, its 76" tall, 42" wide, and 30" deep. I picked up cheap linoleum tile for the bottom, but I think I'm going to edge it with 1x2's, as well as the shelves, put plywood on the bottom of 2 of the shelves, and use wheat bran as a substrate. I think it will be easier to poop'n'scoop that way.
:I see what you did for the lighting. What is your width from back to front? I like the general set up of your cage, it seems muli functional. Maybe for the mesh I could use two 1x1 with the mesh in the midde. I am looking forward to adopting and really want to get the cage done first, LOL I went crazy building cages for my beardies and learned from that lesson. So I want her to be home as soon as she comes home : ) thank you for the info and the pick it was very helpful.
