For your information I have 3 adult males, and I only notice when they are in the breeding season because their skin color change and the color of their urine too!!They are always very friendly!!But dont forget that iguanas have a very good memory and if you take your ig to a vet who will make him suffer he will not forget and it will be much more difficult to you to tame it.If he doesnt die during the operation of course!!

:For the males, neutering will not change their behavior. I don't know of a single reason to neuter your male iguana. On the plus side, only some males get nasty during breeding season, while other stay sweet and friendly. And some get less friendly than usual, but are never aggressive.
:If breeding season aggression is a major concern for you, there are plenty of female igs than need adopting too. :-) Female igs are less prone to those breeding season behavioral changes, although they may get a little bitchy sometimes too. Spaying an iguana is a dangerous procedure, and generally vets only do it if egg-binding is or is going to become a serious problem. I don't know what sort of attitude difference might or might not result from a female iguana being spayed, but there are a few people here who have gotten their girls spayed. Maybe they'll have some input. But behavior is generally not such a concern for the females.
:Hope this clears the matter up a little bit for you. :-)

::Does it make a difference if the iguana is altered for attitude?
::Altered ie as in spay or neutered?
