: What are the kind of foods should a iguana eat?
staple foods=every day foods like dandelion, mustard greens & collard greens
What should you not feed your iguana?
too many to mention..but high protein (animal or plant), high oxalates, refined sugar, human junk food
: I heard something about you should feed an iguana fruit about once a month. Why cant you feed them fruit everyday?
You CAN feed an iguana fruit everyday!! just a little bit tho add it to their salad in small pieces ..pick the ones high in soluble fiber...it slows the movement of calcium rich foods and actually enhances the absorption of bone friendly minerals...use apples, cactus pears, oranges,& bananas, papaya is excellent as well as rasberries. Strawberres are high in oxalates so use sparingly.
Lots of resources...lots of different diets out there..get the basics then the skies the limit!
Good luck
