I think that igabelle is a great name for an iguana!! I love it!! She's a pretty thing too!

Figuring out how to tame *your* iguana is hard to say unless you know your iguana. You have to figure out how you can get her to trust you so that she can become tame. Every ig is going to be different. Handling her is a good thing to do *regularly*. Let her ride around on your shoulder as you walk around the house or let her roam around a room you can regualate her in. Maybe let her out while your home for a little while. I had a hard time taming Spike because he had never really been handled, he was a nervous reck so I had to just move really slow with him. Its taken me quite a few months, but I was really dedicated and spend as much time as I realistically can each day. One thing that *really* helped me was when I started to bathe him. Maybe this was just Spike, but he would let me pick him up with out tail whipping me or running away (which was a huge deal). I used to worry that he was going to hurt himself the way he ran around his cage trying to get away from me.

This has gotten longer than I wanted it to, but here are somethings that you might find helpful. Be patient, be slow and gentle, spend as much hands on time with her as possible so she gets used to you, try hand feeding her treats (not every time she sees you otherwise she'll expect it), don't push her too fast, if she is really not happy, leave her alone, but push her a little more everyday! It really takes time when you do this, but it is so rewarding!!

Best Luck to you,
Shanna and Spike
