To the best of my knowledge there are no incandescent bulbs currently on the market that produce UV. The only options are either UVB producing fluorescent tubes (ReptiSun or IguanaLight 5.0's) or mercury vapor bulbs (T-Rex or PowerSun). Around here, whenever possible, we mount a merc vapor bulb outside of an enclosure and cover the hole with 1/2" hardware cloth to protect the animal from the bulb. A 9" hole seems to do just fine for a 10" dome - as long as there is no chance of the fixture being bumped. If that is possible we simply secure the dome to the enclosure. Timers and power strips abound here as well. If/when a bulb needs to be mounted within an enclosure it is done in a manner that the particular ig will not be able to come in contact with either the bulb itself, the fixture, or any of the power cable. Unfortunately, we don't have any pics of setups at the moment.
To date, one of the best places we've found for reptile supplies is HerpSupplies.com.
