:Someone please tell me that my Dexter will someday return to his normal self!!! This breeding season has revealed a very nasty side to this normally very friendly iguana. I guess I'm about three weeks into his agressive behavior, and can't wait for it to end! He has already bitten me pretty good on the back of my head, and now I am very cautious when handling him. I only allow him to be on my arm, with his head facing away from my body. The weird thing is that when he is in a good (normal) mood, he is going out of his way to seek me out, more than usual. He still enjoys having his head rubbed, but I do have to be very careful when interacting with him. It seems like something will set him off (and who knows what it may be...), and then I have to just put him away and leave him alone. He has already bloodied his nose once from repeatedly charging into the plexglass trying to get me as I walk by his enclosure. I am more afraid that he will hurt himself than me. Another thing, aren't iguanas appetites supposed to drop during breeding season? Dexter is eating like a horse (even more than before this behavior started)!!! I guess he needs more energy for all of his head bobbing and beastly behavior!!!
