It's good that you are spending time with your ig but allowing it free access to your kitchen counters and to poop in the kitchen sink is asking for trouble. There are too many health risks for both you and the ig with this. With disease and parasite problems you are endangering the health of you or anyone else who uses the kitchen unless you go completely obsessive/compulsive about sterilizing the area! From your description I assume that your ig is still small, since you talk about it jumping onto your head. You spoke of it being up there loose when you are cooking. With the speed and jumping prowess iguanas have it would be very easy for him to end up in a hot pan or on a burner, I would also worry about it disappearing down the drain of the disposal.
