Thanks for the assistance. I took Gordo to a vet listed on the reptile vet site. The tail problem was a possible abscess. However, the vet also found a large tumor in his abdomen. With Gordo's sudden weight loss and loss of strength over a 10 day period, the vet gave him a very low chance for recovery, and said that he was a poor candidate for surgery. Regretably we decided that the best course was for him not to suffer a long illness. He will be misssed. Thanks again for your help.
