my enclosure was 8 cubic feet. pretty big uh?
as substrate, i used astro-turf (i think that's what they call it), or "fake grass".
I'd cut it in tiles, keeping a few aside outside of the cage.
When it was time to clean or replace soilked or dirty ones, i'd just replace them with the clean ones, and wash with bleach etc the dirty ones. The cycle went on and on, without having to buy new ones, unless it was really time to.
Since iguanas are arboreal, and mine didnt spend much time on the ground, i wasn't worried with claws getting caught in it, since I heard that is one drawback.
Very eye-candy, easy to place, cut, clean/wash, re-use. A monkey can do it.
Another advantage is that usually only one side gerts mostly soiled or stained, so the others dont have to be replaced as often. I did a comlplete replacement of all of them once a year, for sanitary purposes.
