Well that is an awesome cage size. I think it is great he is kept in that, although he probably does run wild in there. You could section part of it off if you think that is the problem, but I think you should probably just spend more time with him. Hand feed him treats, talk softly to him, give him warm baths. Grab him in a towel so you won't get bitten and hold him still until he realizes you won't hurt him. It can take a year until they realize you aren't trying to kill them!
