Hello Jamie,
It is a general rule of thumb not to mix species of any kind unless you really know what you're doing. Iguanas and Bearded Dragons have different requirements as far as their cages and those requirements would conflict with each other. Plus, as these two fellas get older, they are going to get more terratorial and may not tolerate each other like they do now.
An iguana needs lots of space to climb high up where as Bearded Dragons are not as good of climbers as Iguanas and they could fall and hurt themselves. Iguanas get *MUCH* larger than Beardies. Beardies usually have a substrate where as iguanas are better without (or something they cannot eat). Bearded Dragons need to things like crickets and worms where as Iguanas should *not* have these items. One may be a more aggressive eater and the other may not get to eat because of that. The list goes on and on for the reasons not to do it.
It always seems like a fun thing to do, but if you're genuinely concerned about the healthy and happiness of your animals (which yuo seem to be), then you should house them seperately.
Welcome to the forum,
Shanna
