I knew the pellets would be no good, fast, but then this guy came into my life fast :P While I was giving him a warm bath (he was very annoyed at first, then realized it was warming him up and kind of fun, and was actually swimming/paddling by the end) a good friend was busy scooping out pellets, drying and replacing all the rocks on top of an old, worn out, just right comfy towel. He's now completely asleep under the hiding spot, looking relaxed for the first time since he came home last night :)
:I'd get rid of those soon... If this little guy decides to poop, those alfalfa pellets will be moldy in less than 24 hrs. They are a hazard to iguanas when used as substrate.

::Well, at least he's warmed up, moving around a bit, but he still looks very, very unhappy. Which I suppose is better than looking like he's going to die. No interest in food yet, but I'm sure he'll get there. I'm putting an extention on the top of the tank tonight, which will more than double the size, that will probably help him out as well. Covering the end of the tank with a towel seems to keep him a bit happier too. Poor guy :( Any advice on how to put some weight on him would be appreciated.
::And yes, this weekend I will be building him a much bigger enclosure. The tank extension was in the plans for Spike the beardie already, he will be thrilled when he gets his cage back! I have already decided to keep this iguana, he is in such bad shape with scratches, an almost completely regrown tail, and very long nails and so thin! He deserves better than that, and certainly far better than a parking lot in almost freezing temperatures!
